Q. What time are your services?
A.

On Sundays, there is an informal traditional service at 9:00 am.  A formal traditional service begins at 11:15 am.  The Sunday School hour begins at 10:00 am.

Q. Where should I park?
A.

Parking is available in the parking lot at the rear of the church.  During Sunday services, parking is also available at the College of Charleston Multicultural Center across from the Sanctuary on Pitt St. and the College of Charleston Addleston Library (entrance on Pitt St.).  On Sundays, there is no charge for the metered spaces on Calhoun Street.  Stuhrs Funeral Home has graciously allowed Bethel to use their parking lot on Calhoun St., just a short walk from the church. 

During the week, members and visitors may park in any spot in the paved area behind the church.

Q. What does Bethel mean?
A.

Bethel is the Hebrew word for the House of God.  There is information on the long history of Bethel at OUR HISTORY.

Q. What should I wear?
A.

The majority of people wear traditional church attire.  However, many college students and tourists wear more casual clothes.  More casual attire is often worn during the summer months.  Bethel welcomes members and visitors in either casual or traditional church attire.

Q. Where is the nursery and what age children use the nursery?
A.

The NURSERY is in the Educational Building.  Currently, the easiest access is through the door facing the sidewalk between the Educational Building and the Sanctuary.  An usher will be glad to help you find the nursery.  Nursery Director, LIndy Hoel, and her staff welcome children from infants to age 5. Pagers are available for the nursery staff to contact you in case of an emergency.

 

Q. How can I join Bethel?
A.

If you are a visitor to one of Bethel's services, you can fill out a vistor card and indicate that you are INTERESTED IN JOINING.  You may also call the church office at 843-723-4587 and talk directly with the Senior Minister, John L. Warren.

 

Q. Who do I contact if I have a prayer request?
A.

There are prayer request cards available at the Sunday services and in the church office.  You may also make a PRAYER REQUEST on-line, or by calling the church office at 843-723-4587.

Q. What are the hours of the church office?
A.

The church office is open Monday - Thursday from 8:30 to 5:00.

Q. What do you offer for college students/young professionals?
A. There are educational and fellowship opportunities available for both the college age group and the graduate/young professional age group (GAP).  These opportunities are described at COLLEGE and the GAP (Graduates & Young Professionals).
