Bethel's Library provides a collection of resources available to all Bethel members for their use in personal reading, devotion, and Biblical studies as well as for materials to be used by leaders of church school classes and other study groups.
The library is located upstairs in Room 10 of the education building and is available whenever the church is open (usually M-Th 9am to 4pm and Sundays 9am to 12:30pm).
Where is it? When is it Open?
The books are cataloged at LibraryThing, a cataloging and social networking site for book lovers. Each book has been assigned at least one tag (category) to help with searching and shelving. Bethel's library catalog may be viewed as a list, by book covers, or by tag or author clouds.
How do I find a book?
The book cases are arranged in broad categories such as Bible Reference, Spiritual Life, Methodism, etc. The books are usually shelved by the first tag listed for each book, but multiple copies may be shelved in more than one location.
Each book has an old fashioned pocket and card (usually inside the front cover). Sign and date the card and then place the card in the "Check out" box on the side table. Please return books to the Return Basket on the side table.
How do I check out or return a book?
The upright books are ready for you to check out...Happy Reading!
Why are some books upright and some are stacked on the bottom shelves?
The stacked books are those still being processed...they need to be cataloged on LibraryThing and have pockets glued in. They have been placed on or near the shelf where they will eventually be shelved. If you want to check out a "stacked" book, please make a temporary card (blank cards on side table) withTitle and check out as usual.
